Paradise Hotel

We made the 5 hour drive from Raleigh to Hilton Head Island for a long overdue vacation. The weather so far is very HOT but the place we're staying is fabulous and has a great view of the ocean. Jessie wants you to know it's "adorable" and was just completely redone in the winter of 2008. Here 'tis.

While the parents are away the animals shall play

We are headed to Hilton Head for a vacation and these guys are already missing us. Fortunately they have their favorite Pet Sitter coming to take care of them while we are away.

Weekend Warriors

This past weekend we gave some much needed TLC to an old dresser in our guest bedroom. I don't think either of us anticipated how much time it would take to paint (well, actually Matt takes most of the blame here for buying white primer when our top coat was black...won't make that mistake again!). Here's what it looked like.

Sanding wood indoors was a little harsh on the airways:

The aforementioned white primer a.k.a. time sink (note to my readers - if you're painting something black, buy black primer, it will save loads of time and paint):

The sides of this dresser took longer then expected to paint:

Hit 'em Straight!

It's Memorial Day and Jessie and I decided to play our first round of golf together this year. I was amazed at Jessie's ability to crush the ball today! She was awesome out there!! On the other hand, I struggled on most holes finding more bunkers then fairways or greens. Nevertheless, it beats a day at the office and not far from expectations for the first 18 of the year.

That is one good looking golf cart!

Perfect follow through!

I was hard to miss on the course with that shirt on.

Weekend Walking

On weekends we like to go for a walk on a greenway trail near our home. Cody loves walking here because he gets to cool off in the water and we see lots of other dogs.

The dog has "marked" this sign at least 100 times.

On the trail...

The gazebo over-looking the lake is a favorite resting spot on hotter days. The drinking fountain has a bowl for dogs which Cody will not go near.

It was a beautiful day

A new addiction

It begins with Jessie deciding she was tired of having to start typing the word "McDonalds" on her Treo each time she needed the letter A. Her Treo's A key became dysfunctional after it was bathed in regular coffee one morning. This is her new phone, a Blackberry Curve. It's the best!
